Day of Consecrated Life

Throughout history many men and women have identified with Mary’s ‘Yes’, her affirmative response to the Lord made them capable of giving their lives to the cause of the Gospel in the various ways that the Spirit, through the charisms, has opened up for the good of the Church in the world.

Mary’s Yes shows us our acceptance of God’s dreams and desires for us. But it also shows the commitment of our obedience and her way of living and understanding it.

The “Here I am!” with all its force becomes “Here we are! Not only because where a Christian says “I” he or she is saying “we”, but because the ecclesial and Consecrated Life “we” of the moment in which we live invites us to offer ourselves and to make ourselves available to seek, seek and do the divine will as a community, within the people of God on the way.
