WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY 2024
Jesus reaffirmed the traditional Jewish teaching of Deut 6:5: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength; and of Lev 19:18b: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself”. Love is the DNA of the Christian faith. God is Love and “the love of Christ has brought us together as one”. Our common identity is found in the experience of God’s love (cf. Jn 3:16) and we reveal that identity to the world in the way we love one another (Jn 13:35).
