Retreat online
We thank our sister Maria Silvia Ferrante for this retreat preparing us for the feast of St. Nazaria, in the context of the Centenary towards which we are approaching, because she gave us a reading from her diaries, deepening the joy of St. Nazaria’s Yes to God’s will, in her surrender to his will.
Starting from her diaries, we were offered a journey through her vocational history, an itinerary through the successive Yeses she gave to the Lord until the moment she felt this special call to found the Pontifical Crusade, which was not at all easy for her to respond to.
An interior process in which she encountered great struggles, with an internal combat between these dreams of undertaking her ideals and having to face the difficulties that would come from “outside”, from the Little Sisters, from the Church and from the Bolivian society of her time.
And also the difficulties from “inside” her, her doubts, her fears, her own experience of her own miseries and personal sin….
But in the face of all this, she did not seek herself, but always wanted to be faithful to the Lord only by seeking God’s will. That is why she was able to find strength in the impulse of the Spirit, accepting this great grace of being a foundress and living it with joy beyond the stumbling blocks and sufferings she had to face in this mission.
We thank God for that “Yes” given with joy in Oruro in 1925, which fills us with joy too, because we are the fruit of her generous “Yes”.
