Mexico City (Mexico)
In the heart of the metropolis, in Colonia Roma, is the MCI house to which the M. General, M. Maria Joaquina Lozano Lopez, made her canonical visit from August 3-12, accompanied by the Secretary General, Br.
The current mission of this presence is to care for the elderly sisters and the residence of medical students who are doing their professional internships at the General Hospital.
Care and welcome from one to the other, conjugating all the verbs behind it: taking care of food, accompanying the doctor, providing pharmacological treatment, praying together, listening to the memory and sharing smiles.
We visited Monsignor Carlos Enrique Samaniego, bishop in charge of religious life in the Archdiocese of Mexico, with whom we fraternally shared concerns and experiences; and Fr. Ruben Sanchez Olmos, pastor of the Rectory of San Jose, where Br. Carmen works, who welcomed us as a brother and with whom we shared situations and apostolic experiences of the City. In the community dialogues we shared concerns about future projects to better carry out this very human and tender mission: to care for those who have been cared for.
