3RD MARA ALUMNI MEETING (MADRID)

On June 8th we had the opportunity to celebrate the Third Alumni Mara Meeting. During the meeting we were presented with the activities to be carried out to celebrate the centenary of Nazaria Ignacia March, a woman of great determination and charisma, who made the cause of the most disadvantaged her own, actively involved in working for the defence of life, human dignity and the search for rights, presented by the MCI evangelisation counsellor.

We also had the opportunity to meet two people committed to disability: l

  • Patricia Sanz, whose objective from ONCE is to make possible the real integration of people with disabilities both in the world of work and in everyday life, and l
  • Mara Zabala, founder of ‘Rocking Wheels’, an initiative created to encourage and be an example that many activities can be done, in tourism, leisure and sport, without a wheelchair being a barrier that prevents them from exercising them.

Finally, M. María Joaquina Lozano from the NGO “bajar a la calle” presented some of the projects they are working on, especially the hydroponics project in Oruro: an initiative that does without land for the cultivation of vegetables.

It was an inspirational and intimate meeting in which many of us met again and reminisced about old times.

Alumni Mara would like to thank the Colegio Mayor for their generosity in welcoming us and inviting us to the cocktail party afterwards.

We attach a video with some photos of the moments we experienced.
