“The harvest is great and the workers few” (Mk 10,2a)

A TRUE STATEMENT! TRINIDAD (BOLIVIE)

The first year, after having assumed the service of the direction of the PMS of the Apostolic Vicariate of Beni, I experienced motions of desolation. This is due to the fact that, in the tours that I gave to know the reality of the Vicariate, I became aware of the breadth of the harvest that, as Jesus said: they walk like sheep that have no shepherd (cf. Mk 6,34b). The desolation came from the good spirit, because instead of discouraging me, it prompted me to feel like what had been entrusted to me.

The desire was present but I still could not find how and with whom to accompany such an abundant harvest. Thank God we are only instruments, and whoever is at the helm has everything under control. They soon enlisted in the ranks, as Saint Nazaria Ignacia said, generous hearts, ready to donate their lives to spread the Love of God, everywhere and among all people. It is in this way that we currently accompany in faith: children, adolescents and their families, in the parishes and neighborhoods of Trinidad. In addition, the Lord took us to the centers of “Chetequije”, “Maná” and the women’s prison.

One is happy to know that the Church, with Christ at the Head, is present in these places. But the harvest still remains, and this is what motivates us every day to ask the Owner of the harvest to send more workers, because without them it would not be possible to continue conquering more hearts for the Patroncito (expression said by San Alberto Hurtado).

Let yourself be found by Him when you go down to the street!

Only this encounter gives us the courage to step out of our comfort zone.

Sister Gabriela Guibarra
