EUROPE – AFRIQUE
As a province, we have just experienced an important moment for our religious family with the aim of taking a step, and then a decisive step in what we think we are doing and want to live together. It was a path that is there certainly assuming traces in our personal and community life. Therefore, called to go forward together. This is why we have titled this article as follows: “SYNODALITY: A LOOK TOWARDS THE FUTURE”
Synodality is not marked out in advance. It requires opening up to the unexpected of God, who, through listening to others, comes to touch us, to jostle us, to challenge us, to move us internally by requiring us to come out of our internal tumult to find God. This chapter was lived as a journey of common discernment of an assembly rooted in the eucharist that becomes aware of itself and sets out together. It was a call to death, to the acceptance of suffering in order to open up to the newness of God.
Saint John Paul II writes: “Important that we have proposed, with the help of God, be deeply rooted in consideration and in prayer. Our time is a time of continuous movement that often goes as far as activism, easily risking doing for the sake of doing. We must resist this temptation by seeking to be before doing” this phrase of the Holy Father, helps us to open ourselves to changes and new opportunities. It was an experience that pushed us to break the vas of spirit of donation, audacity, common interest that is in each of us in order to let its perfume invade our life, our mission.
