OPENING OF THE SYNOD ON SYNODALITY.

“To be the people of God that walks together, listening to everyone.” With these words, Pope Francis asked us to pray for the opening of the Synod on October 10.

Previously, Saturday October 9 will begin with the enthronement and proclamation of the Word of God (Rev 1: 9-20). This will be preceded by a meditation by the Jesuit theologian Paul Béré, (Burkina Fasso) and the Spanish theologian Cristina Inogés Sanz. After this meditation, the Holy Father’s speech will take place.

The Synod will officially open with a Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican presided over by the Holy Father.

The program of this reflection initiative “includes work in plenary session and work in language groups” and Pope Francis “will participate in the first part of the work.” In addition, “representatives of the people of God will be present.
