SYNODAL PATH
About 700 major superiors participate in the plenary session of the International Union of Superiors General, in Rome, from May 2 to 7. Among them, M. María Joaquina Lozano, our mother general.
Jolanta Kafka, rmi (President of UISG), introduced the sisters and invited them to embark on this synodal journey together. He began by challenging each and every one of us to accept and embrace our personal and community vulnerability as a requirement to allow grace to act in us and make transformation possible.
“We are from the same clay, we need to go through this process
of embracing our vulnerability with mercy, love, and hope together.“
The main theme “Towards a synodal process” will go through several stages. We are invited to think about our charisms and spirituality, the spirit that moves us in our missionary action, that leads us to take charge of aspects of spiritual and social life.
This vocation to embrace all of humanity must respond to a style, and it is the peculiar style of the Church that is to walk together. Spirituality and Synodality constitute two keys to understanding the mission of Consecrated Life today. Only from this “walking together” as Church (synodality), we will be able to take charge of humanity (spirituality).
