A year ago, everything was ready to live the pre Easter. A few days of prayer and reflection around the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus.
The pastoral workers prepared the pre-Easter with immense joy. One hundred young people from all our schools and parishes in the province were preparing the trip with enthusiasm.
The world was paralyzed with the pandemic. The compulsory confinement forced us to live our own Passover individually, in the midst of bewilderment, suffering and loneliness.
PRE EASTER 2021
A year later, in Europe we passed the third wave. New variants of the virus are emerging in Latin America and Africa. And on a planetary basis, infections continue to increase. At the same time, the paschal mystery was approaching and as a pastoral group we wanted to express the deep and hard experience lived during these months.
In the pastoral meeting of the province of Europe – Africa we thought of providing the possibility to anyone who wants to find the mystery of Christ in fragility. And, by dint of reflection, why not a paschal triduum? It would be a catechesis on the life of Christ given. A paschal triduum lived in a virtual way. United by the experience of the God of life.
With astonishment, we note how our charism crossed the borders of the Europe – Africa province to be what it is, a universal charism. Young monitors, missionaries, members of FENI, young people, teachers … all united by faith and charism.
From the General House we share the profound silence, we reflect on our humanity weakened by the pandemic, on what the cross and the pain of Christ illuminate in our days; the hope encouraged by the resurrection.
The Total Work was able to pray the great mystery of Christ, who embraced our lived experience.
Thank you all for what we shared, let us continue to announce the risen Jesus, so that others may meet Him. … HE REALLY RISED, MY LOVE AND MY HOPE …
