Human rights are the foundation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as, without human dignity, we would have no hope of driving sustainable development. Progress on all the Sustainable Development Goals drives human rights, just as progress in human rights drives these goals.
They are the civil language that expresses the theological certainty of human dignity. For which, all human beings have rights beyond any ideology and borders. It is the ethical translation of the evangelical project of being all brothers and sisters, with the dignity of children of God.
