POPE FRANCIS IN MALTA.

“There is no sin or failure that by presenting it to Him cannot become an occasion to start a new, different life, in the sign of mercy. There is no sin that cannot go this way. God forgives everything. Everything”.

The Holy Father once again invited us to never tire of asking for forgiveness, during the Eucharist celebrated on Sunday, April 3,

The Pontiff wondered how to verify if we are disciples in the Master’s school: “By our gaze, by the way we look at our neighbor and at ourselves.”

How do we look at others?

In developing the way in which we look at our neighbor, he referred to two attitudes: if we do it as Jesus shows us today, that is, with a look of mercy; or in a way that judges, sometimes even despises, like the accusers of the Gospel.

According to the Holy Father, these accusers set themselves up as “paladins of God, but they do not realize that they trample on their brothers.” In reality, the Pontiff continued, those who believe that they defend the faith by pointing their fingers at others will even have a religious vision, but they do not embrace the Spirit of the Gospel because they forget mercy, which is the heart of God.

How do we see ourselves?

Second, Francisco pointed out that the woman’s accusers are convinced that they have nothing to learn. “Certainly, its outer structure is perfect, but the truth of the heart is missing,” he said.

For the Pontiff, these characters “are the portrait of those believers of all times, who make faith an element of facade, where what stands out is the solemn exteriority, worse interior poverty is missing, which is the most valuable treasure of the man”.
