FROM EL CHAMIZAL TO GUERRERO (MEXICO)
The COVID 19 pandemic has made it possible for people to question what they can do for those who need it most. That reason is what has made many acquaintances approach us, in the Chamizal area, CDMX to make a chain of love between all of us. Each one contributes a link to that chain of help: each woman and man generously gives what they can and have. We bring this help to the people we know have more needs, more sufferings and truncated dreams.
After discerning, we decided to distribute the support between two populations: people who live in shacks in the Chamizal colony and needy families from the state of Guerrero.
Many are the faces we see : there is the young widow with two girls who recently lost her husband to cancer, and who had to sell her “laying” hens to pay for her husband’s medicines. Also the blind old woman who lives alone. Or the hundreds of girls and boys who have not been able to continue their studies because they do not have electronic devices. Maybe the woman who weaves the palm to earn a few pesos.
The needs are endless, but as long as there are people like Bely, David, Silvia, Ángel and many more, the pain will be more bearable. The hope of a more fraternal world is gradually advancing towards reality.
