THE MYSTIC ALLIANCE.
“I took a cup, filled it with wine, took a piece of bread and, explaining to them how the Lord wanted us to be one, as he was with his Father, and that we should do this ceremony as if we were linked and united with Christ, the Church and the Institute unwaveringly.
I blessed him and, asking the Lord that we might not all be but one body and one soul with him, I pronounced his words:
Take and eat, it is my body. Take and drink, it is my blood…
In the name of the Lord, I asked you, out of love for Him, to always drink from the same chalice, having one soul and one desire, one will, one desire always…
I then ordered that this cup be kept for a perpetual memory of this mystical alliance, of this union with the ideal of the Institute.”
