A deep review of our life, to see if our steps are directed towards God.
- Almsgiving – in spanish, from the Greek elëmosynë, mercy – defines the inclination of the human heart to the weakness of the other, either in his poverty or in his sin. It is not to pass indifferently next to the wounded Samaritan, but to become a neighbor of those who are fallen on the margins.
- Personal prayer is the interior dialogue with the Father, a tireless search for his face. Live as a son / daughter of God, open to experience loved creature. It is letting yourself be found and loved by Love itself.
- Fasting is a double bond with God and with the brothers, because deprivations are goods to share with the poorest. Ritual fasting is criticized by the prophets, who connect it with justice.
And all this, without showing off to others, seeking social reward; nor have himself as a reference of conduct; nor manipulate God in a blackmailing way. The Gospel invites us to walk the path from the authenticity of the heart, to find ourselves, with others and with God.
